VP of Human Resources at Hilltop New WCHRA President
(GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, JANUARY 19, 2006)
Lisa Martin, Vice President of Human Resources at Hilltop, was installed as president at the Western Colorado Human Resource Association’s annual business meeting, Wednesday, January 18, 2006. Martin brings with her over fifteen years of Human Resource expertise and has been a board member of WCHRA for 5 years.
Martin stated, "The Western Colorado Human Resource Association (WCHRA) is a wonderful resource for Human Resource professionals and their organizations in our region, and I am proud to be a part of it. The WCHRA has an outstanding group of professionals on their board who are working hard to serve the professional and advance the profession, and we are looking forward to providing relevant training and support to our members and the western slope business community in 2006."
Past President, Pene Walker, HR Leader at Community Hospital, while continuing to serve on the WCHRA board has accepted the position of Western District Director with the Colorado SHRM State Council.
Terri Gird, Branch Manager of Westaff, is the organization’s new VP/President elect and will serve for two years. Debbie Balmer, Executive Secretary at Western Colorado Community College has accepted the position of chapter secretary and, Kim Miller, Regional Human Resources Manager for Bresnan, will serve as Treasurer.
Other board changes include the newly created position of Webmaster, filled by Darla Fortner, Human Resource Manager for Entrom’s Candies and Director of Legislative Activities filled by Gary Wallace, Human Resource Director at Community Hospital.
Chapter meetings are held at Two Rivers Convention Center on the third Wednesday of the month from 11:30 to 1:00. Most meetings combine a luncheon with a one-hour presentation on a topic of interest to those in the Human Resource and local business community.
