Diversity Director

WORKING TITLE: Executive Director for Equity and Minority Student Success
Salary Range: $83,989 - $113,632 (260 days)
Reports to the Superintendent and is responsible for leading and executing the diversity and inclusion strategy for Mesa County Valley School District.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, directing and assessing programs to support minority student learning and minority recruiting. This includes the overall creation and implementation of diversity strategies in partnership with regional business leaders, assessing and addressing specific regional needs and differences, creating awareness, and collaborating with administrators to drive leadership engagement, visibility and accountability within 42 schools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree;
- Two years of experience with issues of cultural diversity and;
- Demonstrated results in organization assessment, strategic planning, development, and systematic implementation of diversity initiatives that have positively impacted organizations.
The successful candidate will be dynamic, highly organized, and creative; possess effective interpersonal, communication skills, and a strong work ethic; and have demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff and students.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree;
- Experience in diversity program development and implementation in K-12 education;
- Experience in recruiting, administration, advising, or counseling in an education setting;
- Ability to identify needs of diverse student constituent groups, and respond effectively through prioritization and appropriate support;
- Bi-lingual in English/Spanish.
